The Insider Secrets to understanding and using Pay Per Click
search engines - part #1,
By David Belton CEO BECANADA.

=================================================================

Pay per click search engines are the fastest, and easiest
way to get qualified traffic to your website[s] NOW.

They can also cost you a fortune if you do not know they
are NOT all created "equal"... and the quality of traffic
they represent is not the same.

The information I share with you in this section is real
life experiences with using Pay per click search engines
and the result of spending 10 of 1000s of dollars on them and
learning what works and why.

Because there are so many issues to understand about Pay
per click engines - this will be a multiple part section
spanning a number of Cashlinks newsletters.

Let start with understanding "equality" in the Pay Per
click engines.

a] Keyword relevance AND review is king.

The more focused the keyword[s] you use to get people
to your website, the higher your results. Keep in mind
that you must have a CLEAR PICTURE of what you want
this intended traffic to do, and you must be able to track
it. You may be surprised what KEYWORD[s] lead to the
action you want to occur [ie sales, sign up for a newsletter
, purchase a service etc etc].

Expect to spend [no pun intended] 30 days minimum testing
keyword[s] to get your intended action to occur. IF you
product or service is seasonal - only test during the
top season to sell it.

Make certain to record and tally your results.

What does "review" have to do with it?

There are many Pay per click engines that review
keyword[s] prior to inclusion in their databases.

Some review EVERY change to the title, description,
and website link. IT is these engines that will ultimately
have the highest value to the web surfer and yield the
most specific results. In other words, the web surfer will
likely find AND TAKE action on the first or second search...
rather than root through several searches.

Generally speaking is it these engines that yield the
best QUALIFIED visitors, yield the most sales - BUTT-
COST the most per visitor.

Can other pay per click engines that DO NOT continuously
review yield results?

You bet. In fact within a few minutes I could get 1000s
of EXTRA visitors visiting my website[s] today.

But for all intents and purposes this is what I consider
less targeted or "shotgun" visitors because keyword searches
by visitors are NOT AS RELEVANT - thereby leading to less
qualified traffic to your website[s]. This due because listing
changes [title, description, website link] go un-reviewed
and as a result lead to more listings that are less relevant
over time...

b] Rules and regulations for using services.

Many pay per click engines have different rules... one
of the most powerful ones in the "pop up window" rule.

Top engines will not allow these because they create
problems surfing back to the listing from the pay per
click engine... which leads to lower revenue for that
engine [you click on fewer listings] and for what
they say - a lower quality of surfing for the visitor.

Guess what pop up windows really do... they divide your
cost of each click in TWO.

I can just see the "hate mail" coming from that comment.
But if you want to truth - pop up windows work - period.

I am not going into how to use them properly - that is
a book in itself - but they work and work well when
used properly and with self restraint.

Most "one time review" and "no review" search engines
allow pop up windows - use them where you can. Remember
you pay for EVERY visitor - the difference between loss
and profit can be the revenue or action created by these
pop up windows.

NEXT ISSUE...

We will continue covering the differences between
the engines, and how to use these to your benefit.

[2] Becanada HOWTO:
"Making more sales by understanding timing on the net"
____________________________________________________________________

Timing is the key - in telling a good joke, asking a woman
out on a date... and making the sale.

On the net it takes on a whole new meaning because of technology
and how the Internet actually operates [for the most part]...

This article is about how to use this knowledge to increase
sales and signups at your Cashlinks Website... using free
advertising and low cost advertising.

Just like in the "real world" the art of making the sale
is about timing... for example you are reading an ad in a
newspaper classifieds for a car... and it happens to be
the right car for the right price and you need a car...

The sale is made.

To place this ad, the person had to place it a number
of days [or longer] BEFORE it was published... sometimes
weeks before it was published.

Let's say this car is a sports car, and the ad appears
in the spring... statistically the best time to sell
a sports car.

Understanding WHEN PEOPLE are most likely to buy is
the holy grail of advertising.

Understanding WHEN PEOPLE are most likely to buy
and spend the most money... is the holy
grail of business and making money.

NB:

Reverse these two "rules" and consumers understand
how to spend the least to get the most AT THE RIGHT TIME.

Now enter the Internet...

The internet allows you to place ADS instantly - in this
example we are referring to classifieds - and as a result
you can influence YOUR OWN results of making money online
on the fly - real time.

You can place an ad, it can be immediately seen by a
person online LOOKING for your item, and that person
can take action... NOW.

From placing an ad, to someone seeing it, to someone
taking action... can take only minutes.

NOW the big questions:

When are people most likely to spend money online?
-At what TIME of day?
-On what day[s]?

How do you answer these questions?
TESTING, watching and tracking.

When are MOST people online [in this case US/CANADA]?
Between 5 pm and 3 am EST.

On what days? Every day? Weekends?

When are people most likely to purchase?
At the beginning of the month?
End of the month? After they get paid?

Ok - I answered the first one - now you know WHEN
to use classifieds that allow immediate postings
and you know when you are MOST LIKELY to have
the largest number of people see your ad[s].

You now have the information you need to promote
your Cashlinks website and get more results... login
into your Cashlinks Member area:

http://www.best-host.com/clctrl/

And use the ads these to promote your site... on
classifieds [free or low cost]. Listings of over
4000 free classifieds are at YOUR classifieds website.

http://www.becanada.com/\$/?

The other two questions... for that you have
to open your "eyes" a little and watch...

Here is what to watch:

1] What day[s] do you get the most spam?
2] On what day[s] do you get the most of the same spam?
3] What day[s] do the top marketers email?

Remember most people are on a TWO WEEK cycle
and everyone is on a monthly cycle [bills!].

Knowledge is power.
Power used properly saves time and energy.

Internet Tip of the Week by Bob Osgoodby
"Click Away Syndrome"
____________________________________________________________________

Internet Tip of the Week
by Bob Osgoodby

Click Away Syndrome

We see literally hundreds of ads every week that arrive by email,
are published in Ezines we subscribe to, or possibly banner ads
on web sites. Most of them fit into the "click away" category
and are not even read. Every now and then however, one gets our
attention and we visit their web site, or request further
information by email.

First, let's examine the "click away" varieties. The best shot
for a "click away" is sending multiple offers (unsolicited
commercial email) advertising the same thing. Face it - if we
didn't "bite" on the old scam of earning millions to help get
money out of a South African country, the odds are we won't now.
Sending the same or similar messages every day will get them
automatically filtered out or simply deleted.

While email marketing may well be the marketing tool of the
future, until it is brought under control and the scamsters
brought to task, it has a long way to go. Many people don't mind
receiving offers via email, but many others place spam in the
same genre as the telemarketer that always calls just when you
sit down for dinner.

Predictable subject lines are usually the give away. I really do
know if I asked for information about something, and when I
didn't and receive one that says "Here is the Information You
Requested", it immediately hits the circular bin. In point of
fact, people who receive large amounts of spam have made the
automatic deletion of spam into an art form.

While banner ads are heavily hyped they are easily ignored. I
personally can't remember the last time I did click on one, but
from the consumer's perspective, they are a step above the email
spam. At least the advertiser is giving you the option to go to
their web site or not. There is a variation however that fits
into the "pain in the neck" variety. These are the "pop-up" ads
that appear when you are at a web site. You then have to close
the window that pops up, before you can continue viewing the
site. When this starts to happen, I normally close both.

Personally I take great umbrage with AOL's policy of putting an
ad on the opening page every time I want to use their service.
We join an ISP for Internet Access and pay a monthly fee for
that service. We shouldn't have ads in our face every time we
try to use it.

Ezine advertising is another form, but that can also be misused.
If I subscribe to a publication, I don't mind seeing ads as that
is the financial support required to meet the expenses of the
publication. Thinly disguised articles however, which are
actually ads and have little or no content are a misuse, and fall
into the spam category.

If you are considering advertising in a publication, how do they
group their ads. If they are in a separate mailing with the
content in "Part 1" and the ads in "Part 2" you are probably
wasting your money. People quickly scan "Part 1" for the content
and then delete "Part 2" without even opening it. If there are
multiple ads in a row, one after the other, you are also probably
wasting your money as people tend to simply skip past them.

OK - let's say you find an ezine that does it correctly, you must
have an ad that gets the readers attention. This takes time to
develop and usually your best bet is to test several ads in the
same publication, and track the response rate. It doesn't
normally pay to compare response rates in different publications
with different ads in each. The demographics of the subscribers
are different and what may pull in one, may not in another.

How do you track the response rate? Well, there are basically
three ways that this can be done. The easiest way is to use a
different email address for each ad. Anything you receive at
that address, came from a specific ad. If you only have one
email address to track them, you can use a specialized address
such as: mailto:onoesenses-on@mail-list.com?subject=YB with a
different subject for each ad. Another way, if you own your own
web site is to have a different "home page" for each ad you wish
to track. These are basically "mirror" pages with a different
URL - any hits you receive there came from a specific ad.

Once you find an ad that works in one publication, try it in
another. Before you know it, you will have an ad program
that will not suffer from the automatic "Click Away Syndrome".
