- The Money making season and the "echo" is coming.

Very soon the fall season will be upon us. For many of you with
children it is a return to the "good life". For online marketers
it usually means a return to regular business. The peak season
for selling on the net extends from September to Mid December
and then continues from January to approximately May. This is
the time to market your website, and make money online. If you
are preparing for it now - great! If not, this is a wake up
call to get things in order and prepare. Get prepared to
go go go within less than 2 weeks.

But this year we have an additional factor for the North American
market - the war. Even the biggest retailers on the planet where
affected by it. What we are seeing now is an "echo" of that
war in terms of consumer spending. In other words a return
to spending and investment and in turn people spending money. This
"echo" is like the "Boom, Bust and Echo" of the baby boomer
generation - except on a much compressed time scale. The "boom"
was before the war, the "bust" was a break in consumer confidence
and the "echo" is the return to spending and focus on other
things with the conclusion of this war. The "echo" is delayed
because it takes time for money to begin flowing again from
the top ... on down.

Recently we received some emails from clients about some simple
steps and the products/services required to make money online
and why. We felt sharing this with our readers and reseller
would help shed some light on this issue.

All of the products and/or services required are at:

In order this is what it will take to get setup online and
working - DO NOT skip a step. These steps are in order of
escalation in terms of seriousness both in money and time
invested:

1. You need marketing information on Internet Marketing. Do
not proceed until you have a basic understanding of this -
it is vital to the next steps.

2. If you are going to resell a product or service, sign
up and get a website. If you plan to really get serious you
will need your own website[s].

3. Now that you have some idea of how to market online, and
a website [or two] begin promoting. You either do it by
hand or get software to assist you. If you plan to use
just a reseller[s] website then you need something for
classifieds submissions. IF you have your own website[s]
and/or reseller website[s] you need multiple products -
especially for search engine submissions.

Key point:
IF you plan to use search engines, you need your own
website because you need control over content to optimize
your ranking in search engines.

4. It is time to invest in some paid advertising. If you
skipped step 1... GO BACK TO STEP 1 now. Do not even
consider spending a single dollar until you understand
marketing online.

5. Take it to the next level. You should have clients,
customers, interested people etc etc... and building
a mailing list. Now is the time to starting managing
this - you need software to do this right. You should
now begin to mail these lists... BUT FIRST learn how
please! There is software for mailing list usage and
ebooks on emailing. Both items are critical.

Obviously I have left a lot out here... as the information
alone on marketing online runs over 1000 pages alone.

However - these are the steps in order of seriousness
you need to take to make money online.

Study, work hard and work smart and you will succeed.

- Loading Speed Equals Making or not making money

Recently we have begun to revamp all Becanada/Cashlinks websites
to speed them up. Although there is a lot of high speed access
out there for internet surfing - the majority of the world
still moves along with a 56K modem or equal speeds. In many
cases dialing up speeds are no more that 33K and sometimes
less. This information is VITAL to making sales online and keeping
clients at your website[s]. I encourage everyone reading this
newsletter to log in via modem at 28K speed and TIME the loading
of whatever website[s] you are using/promoting. Stats show most
people will CLICK AWAY [leave!] if there is no reason to stay
[read no content] within 10 to 30 seconds. Testing loading
time and speeding it up equals more sales - period.

When you test your website[s] - make certain to delete all temporary
files [Tools, Internet options in Internet Explorer] EACH AND EVERY
time you test your website[s] and make changes. This will yield
your true loading time for a new person visiting your website[s].
Also note your website[s] will not always load at the same speeds
at all times of the day - test in the morning, afternoon, evening
and weekends - get some partners to help you if you have them -
and test at different parts of the country/different countries if
possible. These points are critical to achieve maximum results.

How do you optimize a website's loading speed?

1. Understand, that at any one time in most cases there can only
be 4 streams of data downloading. IF all four are busy loading
pictures ... then things will take time.

2. Reduce graphics / optimize gifs/jpgs. In some cases using
a JPG will save a lot of time loading, VS using a Gif file for
graphics.

3. If you have a lot of images, look at POST LOADING them. That
is setting up code to manually load these images after important
text has loaded.

4. Optimize the HTML code itself. Understanding how a browser loads
an HTML page is the key to fast loading pages and a great
surfing experience for your client. READ: Make more sales.

Remember if it loads fast at 28K, then it will look like lightning
at 56K and above. This will make you look more professional
and will yield you more sales in the long run.

"What's In It For Me"

We've all heard the term "sell the sizzle, not the steak". Well,
if you're selling anything, you had better pay attention to the
"sizzle". In today's market, your potential prospects have one
thing in mind. "What's in it for me", and if you're into
sales, you must realize this. While the "nuts and bolts" of your
product or offer are important, that is not normally what gets
someone's initial interest and makes the sale.

People don't buy products or services. They buy benefits. If you
are selling an opportunity, people want to know realistically how
much they can make. Promises of hundreds of thousands of dollars
a month will usually fall on deaf ears. Why, because it is not
realistic. You do have to point up the benefits someone will
receive however, but if you make outlandish claims, they will
simply "click away".

Let me digress - years ago I was running a data processing center
and we were only running limited applications. We then had a job
added to our responsibilities, which resulted in about three
additional days of work, for three people once a month. Not
having the staff to do this job, in addition to our daily work,
we had to hire temporary help.

A look back - we were dealing with "punched card technology"
then, you know - like the "hanging chad" problem in Florida
during the last presidential election. While we didn't have that
problem, we were dealing with the same technology. We were
having pressure put on us to add even more applications, and it
just wasn't possible with the constraints of our current hardware
and staff.

We started to shop around for a computer, and a number of
companies were contacted. One salesman extolled the virtues of
his hardware, and we didn't have a clue as to what he was talking
about.

Another salesperson didn't try to sell us on the hardware, and
the "bits and bytes" involved. He said simply "you can do the
job that is now taking three days without the "temp" help in
about an hour". And, he continued, "you can do your daily work
and the additional applications you want within your normal
working day".

What was he doing? He was solving our problem. He didn't even
mention disk storage, or printer speed, he simply told us the
benefits of what a computer from his company could do
for us. That salesperson got the order, and we have been dealing
with them ever since.

If you are doing business, or trying to, you must gear your
program to meet the needs of your prospects. If you're selling a
product, most people don't really care about how it's made, or
how it's designed. They want to know "what is in it for them".
Put a different way, what benefits will I get by dealing with
you, rather then someone else.

If you are selling an "opportunity" or affiliate program, that
thousands of others are trying to "hawk" at the same time, why
should they buy from you? If you hope for a chance of
succeeding, this is a key issue that must be addressed. Face it,
most people don't, and then wonder why they fail.

Stress the personal relationship and help you will give them.
Most people who are new to trying a program of this type, need a
lot of help and guidance. If you can promise, and deliver this
type of help, you have a much greater chance of getting them as
a customer than someone who doesn't.

If you are in the market for a raincoat, what is the primary
thing you want? While the fact that it is double stitched and
made out of high grade material is great, want you really want is
to keep dry when it rains.

If you are to succeed, you have to figure out what other people
are looking for. While they are really looking for a "steak", it
will be the "sizzle" that will sell them.
