Search engines are still the primary way people find what
they are looking for on the net. Even most Payperclick engines
employ some type of free listing from leading free submissions
search engines. For ISell members this represents a CONTINUING
free source of traffic and leads - and eventually sales.

If you are SERIOUS about using search engines to generate
traffic [to your main website, your ISell Classifieds or both]
you should invest in search engine software.

This software will automate a lot of the chores - including
lead in page generation [a must for ISell Classifieds],
submissions, ranking checking and more...

4 - search engine listings [list of search engines].
5 - How to make lead in pages.
6 - Basic Html.
7 - Uploading webpages [FTP].

Important final notes:

Regardless of the route you choose, allow 60-90 days for you
to start getting search engine traffic. You may want to go after
a nitch market [ie "dallas free classifieds" instead of the more
general "free classifieds"] - where there will be less competetion.

You may also want to consider setting up multiple websites and/or
multiple website domain names that lead to your classifieds sites
to increase results. This is really an advanced topic - but
still something you should be aware of.

If you are using a free hosting service [Hypermart or Netfirms]
or you do not have a full domain name - this will in many
engines LOWER your ranking - against other websites with full
domain names. Consider upgrading to paid hosting / hosting
with a full domain name.

Remember - it will take effort to achieve good rankings in
free search engines - keep at it, and you will succeed.

At some time or another, you may have heard the saying,
"Jack of all trades and master of none!" This lack of
success, according to marketers, is often avoided by
locating a niche. By avoiding the temptation to sell
everything like a peddler, you can successfully concentrate
on one niche in a market.

Niche marketing is very useful on the Internet, where large
amounts of services and products are peddled. By first
finding a niche, you can position yourself in a more
favorable manner to an existing market. Even if you're a
small operation, you can still accumulate a large profit
through a niche. In other words, the amount of revenue that
you pull in doesn't have to be dependent upon the size of
your business when you find a niche.

The best way to get into a niche is to first find a need
that's not met and then go out and fill it. The wrong
approach is to put your product or service before a market
without knowing if the market will want it. However,
unearthing an open niche on the Internet is no easy task
since the Internet is home to over 50 billion websites that
sell a wide assortment of products and services. One way to
overcome this problem is to find special ways to present a
niche. Even the slightest change in how you approach a
niche compared to someone else can make a huge difference in
your experience selling that niche. To find a unique way to
sell that niche, begin with an inventory of your expertise.
Inside this inventory, you may come across a spin or
position that will make you stand out from the crowd.

All too often a great niche is handled poorly or abandoned
on the Internet. When you come across this, you should
first research what caused this failure before you launch
into the niche. Begin the research by testing keywords on
the Internet. List keywords and synonyms that are closely
tied to this niche and test these in search engines. Study
the search results and note the listings on those results.
Follow through to study the listing sites to see if these
sites look old or deserted. Try to guess why these sites
failed or are failing. Has the niche lost its appeal to its
market or was the site poorly constructed and run?

Sometimes, you'll discover that a niche isn't fully
represented in other sites. When you find this gap,
determine if your market would be interested in that missing
element. The most common gaps fall into the category of
customer service. Can you do this service better than your
closest competitor? Another gap is sometimes filled with
keywords or phrases. Mine for keywords that overlooked by
your competition. For instance, you can do this yourself
inside Google or with free software, Good Keywords by
Softnik Technology. This software tells you how many
searches per month were requested for particular keywords
along with the typical results.

When your niche is completed saturated or presented very
well, then you should consider picking a different niche.
To enter that saturated niche often means you'll need
millions of dollars in order to compete or a level of
expertise that takes a long time to accomplish. For
example, why enter Amazon's niche unless you have lots of
money to invest and the manpower to make the effort
worthwhile?

Niche marketing can strengthen your efforts and improve your
income faster than relying on luck. When you first test
your market and then present your product or service, then
you can put your best foot forward on more solid ground.

most promoted and used is "SEO" techniques. It means
"Search Engines Optimization".

Search engines optimization is the method to manage your
website in order to get high positions on engines.


There are hundred experts and marketing gurus on the net
selling their Seo-products and Seo-services in order to
place your website on high placements (placements on search engines)
and receive the traffic of your dreams. I receive 3-4
messages in my email-box everyday. What you must know
is the big price that you'll pay for these things, until now.


You don't need to spend millions in SEO programs and
services to get fresh targeted visitors, you need these fast points:

1) Reflect and choose the best keywords related
to your business website To give you a real example, I have
selected the phrase "home based internet businesses".



2) Go to www.nichebot.com and write your favorite
terms in its search bar. In my case for "home based internet
businesses" I have received these values -

COUNT - 663 (Number of times search phrase was used in the past 60-days)

COMPETITION - 15,500 (pages listed in Google with the exact keyword phrase)

RATIO - 23.38 (Number of sites for every 1 search;
the closer to zero, the less competition)

I've found a great mix of keywords to use, do you agree?...
However it's a bit soon to take it my friend.
Please continue reading.



3) Go to http://www.searchguild.com/difficulty to start
controlling how difficult it is to rank on the first
page for your query.

(you need Google API code, it's free to get it)

I was lucky! My "home based internet businesses" term
was rated as EASY. If the response is "intermediate" or "hard",
then I suggest you to change your keywords.


Just to recap...Nichebot has confirmed me that there are 663
visitors per day searching for "home based internet businesses",
15,500 competitors and a ratio of 23.38.

Searchguild has rated my phrase as EASY.
It seems that my keywords are a pure gift
that you can use for Google!



4) You can jump to http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion.
You need to verify the quantity of searches (of the same term) on Overture.

Well, it's a nice result: internet home based business
- 361.9/searches per day.

Note that Overture usually change the positions between
the keywords, in fact the word "internet" was placed
before "home based". It's not a problem, it's perfectly normal.

Excellent.
There was a good response of searches.



5) Optimize your website for your new brand phrase/terms.
I know, I know. It's the "Art of Optimization", and you don't
know how to do. Follow these simple suggestions:

Choose not more than 2 keywords (or 1 full phrase) per page.
Put your keywords in the "title metatags".
Put your keywords in the "description metatags".
Put your keywords in the "keywords metatags".
Put your keywords in headlines (use H2 tag and H3 tag).
Put your keywords in your "content".
Put your keywords in "internal links".
Put your keywords in "external links".
Save your page by using the keywords as the name of your
document (in my case I've registered "home-based-internet-businesses.html").



6) Use a blog to promote your new brand site. That's all.

course. While Ford and Daimler/Chrysler weren't in the hole for
a billion dollars, their pr0fits were down by 50% or more for
the quarter. Their cars just aren't selling.

Why are these companies having such a hard time selling their
products and what does it have to do with your marketing?

According to Wharton management professor John Paul MacDuffie,
these companies, "don’t tend to be good learning organizations
which is something Toyota and Honda are superb at." And in the
New York Times, "General Motors and Ford have swerved off course
for a far more basic reason: not enough people like their
cars."

All three companies have lost sight of the most important aspect
of their business and their marketing; what their prospective
customers want and need. Focused on shareholder pr0fits, they've
lost their vision of what their prospects are looking for.

There are two ways of thinking about making more m0ney. You can
ask yourself,

A. How can I maximize my pr0fits?

Or you can ask yourself,
B. How can I give my customers what they want and need and
maximize my pr0fits?

Are you putting pr0fits before prospects?

Whether you're running a one-person firm or a hundred-person
company, your compass should point to what prospects want and
need. This is the direction to long-term success; your customers
have the information you need to develop your products and
services and map out your marketing strategy.

Help your clients get what they want and need, and they'll buy
your products or services again and again and tell all their
friends to do the same.

Do you kn0w what your prospects want and need?

Here's how to keep your business and your marketing pointed to
pr0fits:

1. Constantly Collect Information
You don't need to hire a marketing research firm and spend tens
of thousands of dollars to learn what your prospects want. Yes,
third party research can provide one more way of listening to
what people want, but you can use many low- and no-cost ways of
collecting information.

Use every prospect and client contact to find out more about
what they want and need. Every time a prospect or client talks
to you on the ph0ne or visits your web site, use the opp0rtunity
to prompt them to tell you more about their needs. Get people to
respond to your postcard, letter or your web site copy by
offering them a f.ree report in return for their input.

2. Ask Questi0ns
Ask prospects and clients what they need and want. Ask clients
how they used your product or service and what would make it
even more useful.

3. Watch What Clients Do With Your Products and Services
One of the challenges of product development is getting
prospects to identify a product they haven’t seen. Steve
Maynard, a Vice President of Marketing at Wiremold in
Connecticut understood this dilemma and had a simple solution.
He regularly sent his employees out to watch how customers used
his company's products.

By watching customers install their wire and cable management
products, they could identify any problems that occurred and
come up with new or improved products.
These insights into your customers’ needs and problems can also
drive your marketing.

4. Listen to the Q.uestions Prospects and Clients Ask
Every day prospects and clients call me with lots of q.uestions
about how to improve their marketing. I get q.uestions about
cold calling, email marketing, closing s.ales, getting the boss
to spend m0ney on marketing, solving office politics etc.
Each question is an indication of a need. When I evaluate which
products to develop, which services to keep and which to add, I
use this list of my own prospects’ needs to help set the course
of my business.

My primary service is teaching people how to market their
products and services, but I have had so many requests for help
with copywriting that uses the successful approach I espouse
that I am n0w offering copywriting as an added service.

5. Think About How You Want to Be Seen By Your Customers
Do you want your customers to think of you solely as a
profit-driven service provider? Or do you want your clients to
think of you as a professional who they kn0w and trust to help
them solve their problems? The path you choose will determine
how you approach your product development, delivery and
marketing.

Want to ensure repeat orders and the continued growth of your
business? Keep your business compass pointed to prospects' needs
and wants and you'll stay on a course toward long term success
and greater pr0fits.
