using the ISell Classifieds at your website[s]."

- this issue we are will looking at how to increase
sales using the emailing systems in your Isell Classifieds Software.


First, there are FOUR systems in your ISell Classifieds you can use.

a] Email sent on posting an ad.
b] Email sent on an ad expiring.
c] Email sent on someone FORWARDING an ad to a third party.
d] Email sent via the admin emailer control.


The first three are automatic - you set the values for the headline,
and ad copy in your online control panel at your classifieds
[access via the main page].

For users with the Bronze or Free version you can set one headline,
and one ad. You should change these weekly, for best results.

For Silver and Gold users, you can set multiple rotating ads, and
headlines which will automatically change by themselves -
you can also set the ad to be sent
in HTML and change the "priority level" too.


Special Note:
==============

Gold users have an additional "automatic advertising system" - the
Keyword notify system. This system allows visitors to REQUEST to
be automatically notified when an ad matching their info is placed.

[A notification with the actual ad AND your ad is sent
by email automatically when this happens to the person
that requested to be notified]


Here is what determines your success using email in order:

1] Power of your headline/subject line.
2] Priority of your email.
3] Html used in email [text works, but HTML pulls 3 to 7 times more].
4] Ad copy in email.


These are your success factors - you should work on increasing #1
the most and #3 as it has the most IMPACT
- as it is the most important!

How do I learn "killer" headlines?

Get on a bunch of safelists, ezines etc etc - and keep track of
which headline make you open the email...

Same thing goes for ad copy - I keep a file on all the
"HTML EMAILS" that really "PULL"... - IE grab my
attention.


There is one other very important factor...


>>> Will people actually READ or CHECK the email[s] sent?


In Isell Silver and Gold versions, webmasters can
turn on "email confirmation" required feature...
this REQUIRES that the person both enter
a valid email address AND they read it and click on a link within
the email TO ACTIVATE their classifieds ad...

Is there any other ways?

At your classifieds, indicate everyone that
places an ad get's a "free gift"
that they can get within the email sent
to them for placing an ad...

This could be an E-Book, Free Software... what ever...

Do not forget to actually add a download link in
the email ads for posting!

Your first "battle" when using email is giving
people a compelling reason to actually READ the email.

When people post classifieds ads YOU HAVE THEIR attention.
They want their ad to appear, and you want them to read
your emails ... use this to your advantage.

Using the "confirmation function" requires that a valid, real email
address be used. This causes the the person to read your email [this
applies to both the email received after posting an ad and an email
sent when their ad expires] , AND you have a
valid email address for FURTHER emailing later...

It takes several emails to make a sale - a valid, real email
address is important for you to get your message into
people that will actually read your email[s].

We have covered parts "a,b,c" - now how
about "d" - using the emailer function?

The "admin emailer" allows you to send a email to all people that
have posted an ad in particular category. Note, as ads expire these
leads will disappear from the database[s] automatically.

You access this feature via the online control panel for your classifieds.

Just enter your ad and push the button.

Silver and Gold users have additional features:

1] You can email all categories at the same time.
2] There is a permanent database of all ads
posted [and it can be emailed].
3] Your emails can be personalized.

Gold users can fully personalize emails... this is one of the most
POWERFUL ways to increase your response from email.

Personalization will raise your results 4-10 times.

than once per week... if you email each category, keep in mind

* Connect with people like you, so you don't have that

and become power brokers -- even if they're obnoxious, don't
have any clue what they're doing and so forth.

Forums also attract a lot of negativity.

Twitter is a totally different and refreshing experience.

I've officially been on Twitter hard core for a few weeks now.
I still have lots to learn. But let me share the amazing things
I HAVE discovered about it that can benefit you greatly and almost

I've met some really neat people I normally would have never

1. Sign up at Twitter.com

That's step one, of course. It'll take you about 30 seconds.

2. Download Tweetdeck

It's a freebie download for pc's and Macs from Tweetdeck.com.
Tweetdeck will make your tweeting an unbelievable experience.

3. Keep the negative junk off Twitter

Don't use Twitter to try to get that refund or resolve disputes.
The purpose is marketing. Use it to bring positive energy and
meet people.

People have asked me, "Marlon, why can't I publish info if
someone rips me off?"

The reason is because the PURPOSE of being on Twitter is to
network with people who can promote your products for you.

When you complain about other people, it REPELS positive
people, exactly the ones you are hoping to ATTRACT.

4. Follow people who are in your niche.

Go to Twitter.com. Click on "find people." Type in names of
people who write blogs in your niche, who have affiliate
products and who are influencers.

Click the "follow" link under their photo. This will let you
see their tweets with other people.

5. Make friends

Do NOT go onto Twitter pitching people. Make friends. Be a
sociable person.

6. Learn the art of the RT

RT stands for "retweet". There's a little icon that says RT.
When you retweet someone's messsage, you're passing it on so
the people on your list can see it.

This is the ultimate form of sharing. You give before you
get.

Even if you only have 10 people on your list, use the RT.
But watch how others do it first. Don't just jump in.

7. Observe for a week

Spend a week or so just watching others and learning what
happens on Twitter before you jump in head over heels.

8. Anything and I do mean anything you say can and will be
retweeted.

It's crazy. People RT things you wouldn't think they would.
So be aware that anything you say can be spread. So be
very cautious about saying anything negative about anyone.

9. Share your positive energy

I said this before. But I'm going to repeat. Positive energy
attracts other positive people.

10. Give first

Do NOT ask people to promote you or your product. GIVE first.
Offer to promote THEM!

How? I don't know. Be creative. Think of something. Anything.
Even if it's just republishing their article on your blog. Or
retweeting them.

Let me repeat -- give first. Offer to promote others first.
By law of reciprocity many will give back to you.

The #1 mistake people make is to ASK before they give.

11. If someone really annoys you, you can go to twitter.com,
find their name and on the right side is link where you can
block them.

12. Go to associateprograms.com and search for affiliate
programs in your niche market. Find the names of the product
creators and look 'em up on Twitter.

People who have products with affiliate programs also have
lists. Make friends with 'em. Do something to promote
their product and tell 'em about it. That WILL get a response
in most cases.

13. Offer viral ebooks and reports on Twitter.

Instead of blatantly promoting your product, it's better
to offer a little report or ebook with a decent chance
of others retweeting it.

Use Twitter to PULL more than to PUSH. This is PULL
marketing.

14. When you run across a cool web site or resource tweet
it to your list.

15. Do NOT send a lot of messages without the @ symbol.
You want to send most of your messages to individuals
using the @ symbol.

16. Go out of your way to promote others to your Twitter
list. They'll reciprocate some time in some way.

17. When you find a good blog post on someone's blog,
pass it along to your Twitter list.

This endears you to the blog owner. Even if they aren't
on your Twitter list, there's a decent chance word will
spread back to 'em.

This IS the age of instant communication.

18. Learn to Twitter on your iPhone or cell. Yes,
you can do that too.

19. Understand that in the big picture your goal is to
find people who have lists and can promote your products
then make friends with 'em.

That's your ultimate objective. But you don't get there
by ramming your product down people's throats. You get
there by being an ATTRACTIVE PERSONALITY that others
gravitate to.

It helps if you pass along cool resources and on
occasion say things that are profound or retweetable.

20. Inspire others to go for it and pursue what they
know they should pursue but don't have the courage
to do it.

Be a cheerleader for people's highest and best
interests.

21. Use Twitter strategically to meet and network
with list owners.

Do NOT end up twittering away time you really should
be using to create products or do other promotions.

Use Twitter. Don't let it use you.

One of the biggest reasons people tend to think blogging is more work
than it actually is, is because they think you have to “knock it out
of the park” with every post.

That puts a lot of pressure on you to do all sorts of things with
each post which are unnecessary and definitely makes for less regular
posting after awhile.

For example: I am writing this post to you, my reader. I am writing
it to tip you off on an important idea that will help you. I don’t
need to rank for some specific keyword on this post. The purpose is
to provide something of value for the readers I already have. And,
for new readers who find this post because they came here from
another post I did put some SEO into to get them here.

Regular readers get a bit of help and new readers see how I take
care of my regular readers and bookmark me for later (hopefully).

The key is to chill out about blogging in general. Most of the
time you just need to write. Damn the search engines and all
that SEO! You are only ever going to rank high for a small
percentage of your post and pages even if you DO work your
butt off on each and every one to hit the right keywords
and get links.

So take care of your readers. Do not let a great idea for a post
go to waste simply because you think it’s going to take you all
day to get the thing perfect for the engines. Write it. If it
starts to rank on page 3 or 4 in Google, come back
and re-optimize it to get it to the top 10.

Affiliate: When you review a product and want to rank right up
with or above the product owner for keywords. I always try to
land a top 10 position with “ review” when I want to get a
ton of traffic from people looking for product reviews of

This should be the majority of your posting. Make a good title.
Throw a keyword in the first paragraph.
But WRITE!

Utility Posts: Also known as Speedlinking. Where you link to
a bunch of other bloggers or resources to get posting done
for the day and let your peers do the hard work that day.
While you look like a hero for pointing out good stuff to
your readers.

Notes to your readers: Like this one. Although it’s turned
into a longer post, you can just use your blog like Twitter
and post very short, helpful ideas, links, videos, or other
snippets. Just make your readers aware that you care.
New people who discover your blog from the posts you

DO rank in the engines for will see that you are attentive
and not always trying to just get more readers without
caring about supporting your regular readers.

Web 2.0 is a perceived transition of the Web to web-based applications.
Web 2.0 is the next generation of technology solutions where
interactive content is the norm.

There is no agreement on exactly what Web 2.0 means. Depending on
who you are speaking with, you may receive different explanations.
At it's heart, Web 2.0 is about the maturity of the Web. While many
refer to Web 2.0 as companies that employ powerful web technologies,
the key components of Web 2.0 are said to include: the Web as a
platform, collaboration, and syndication.

Here are the "ABC's" of Web 2.0...

A - Ajax

Ajax is an abbreviation for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, and
is a web development technique for creative interactive web
applications. Many Web 2.0 websites use Ajax to interact with
website visitors.

B - Blog

Blogs are web logs that are updated regularly, usually on a
daily basis. They contain information related to a specific topic.
In many cases, blogs are used simply as daily diaries about people's
personal lives, political views, or even as social commentaries.
The truth of the matter is that blogs can be shaped into whatever
you, the author, want them to be.

C - Collaboration

Collaboration is a hallmark of Web 2.0. Building communities and
developing content from multiple contributors is part of what is
unique about these second-generation websites.

D - Dynamic

Content Dynamic content refers to content which is obtained from
another source, and which is automatically updated whenever the
source content changes.

E - ECommerce

Ecommerce comes from the phrase "Electronic Commerce", which
basically means selling things over the Internet. Many websites
now conduct financial transactions over the Internet. Ecommerce
is simply a vehicle for collecting payments online.

F - Folksonomy

Folksonomy is a means of classifying and categorizing data on
the web through collaborative efforts from the online community.
While not strictly synonymous to the term, this is more commonly
known as "tagging", where keywords are associated with items or links.
The keywords are used to classify the items.

G - Global Navigation

Global navigation refers to a somewhat standardized navigational
menu structure that encompasses all the main pages on the website.
Regardless of the particular web page you are on, you can navigate
to any other part of the website using the global navigation system.

H - Hosted Application

Hosted applications are typically interactive programs that reside
on the Internet, and are designed to run on the Internet rather
than being downloaded and installed on the user's computer.

I - Information Architecture

Information architecture describes the structure and methodology
by which information (such as website content) is organized.

J - JavaScript

JavaScript is a cross-platform, object-based scripting language
developed by Netscape for client and server applications. It is
commonly used in web pages to add interactivity and to
dynamically update content.

K - Knowledgebase

A knowledgebase is a collection of facts, rules, and procedures
that are organized into a searchable format. In Web 2.0, website
knowledgebases are usually interactive.

L - Long Tail

The phrase "long tail" pertains to search engine results. The
"long tail" of search follows the thinking that the combined total
results of multiple less-popular terms will exceed the results of a
single more-popular term. Many webmasters have given up their hope
of ranking well for the extremely popular terms, and instead are
focused on ranking well for the less-popular but more abundant
terms or phrases.

M - Mashups

Mashups are the result of merging content from a variety of different
sources, and thus creating new content based on the merging and
filtering of the resulting content.

N - Newsreader

A newsreader is a software tool or web application that is
used to read and manage RSS feeds.

O - OPML

OPML stands for Outline Processor Markup Language, and is a
standard for people wishing to import or export their RSS
feed subscriptions.

P - Podcasting

Podcasting is online audio content that is delivered via an RSS feed.
Many people equate podcasting to "radio on demand". However, in
reality, podcasting offers far more options in terms of content
and programming than radio does. In addition, podcast listeners
can determine the time and the place of their listening, meaning
that they decide what programming they want to receive and when
they want to listen to it. Listeners can retain audio archives
